Citing Tyreek Hill As Inspiration, NFL Adds Woman-Toss To NFL Combine
INDIANAPOLIS–The NFL combine puts eager prospects through a battery of tests to measure the likelihood each player can succeed on the professional level, from the 40-yard-dash to standing broad jump.
And now they’ve added a new test: The standing broad toss.
“We’ve always had some talented woman beaters in our league, from Ray Rice to Greg Hardy,” Roger Goodell said in his Wednesday press conference. “But with how the game is evolving, we’ve seen a jump in woman-abuse by our most talented athletes. Alaric Jackson, James Pearce, Josh Jacobs, Jameson Williams have all inspired us with the way they toss women around. But Tyreek Hill has outpaced them all. His grit, his grind, his determination with which he attacks women is inspiring, and my staff and I determined it was in the league’s best interest to add a domestic violence test to the NFL combine to help our GM’s identify talented woman beaters that can help their team.”
The new combine test will be administered in this way: “The prospective pro football player will stand behind a line, holding a human woman above his head,” Goodell explained. “That woman can be his wife or his girlfriend for familiarity, as we know many players already practice this test at home with their significant others as part of their combine prep. On the whistle, the athlete hurls the woman as far as he can. Think of it as a sort of shot-put, but with a living, breathing female.”
Other Tyreek-inspired NFL combine tests the league considered were ’40 yard drag a woman by her hair dash’ and ‘pregnant woman tummy punch for reps’.
