Week 6 Fantasy Football Start/Sit Recommendations

Four teams are on bye, so fantasy managers are digging through the pigpen for replacements. Don’t panic-buy last week’s points. Find the matchup, find the opportunity, and feed the right pig.

Start ’Em

Germie Bernard, WR, Steelers at Buccaneers

Bernard is the kind of under-the-radar receiver fantasy managers should be hunting during bye-week season. He turned nine targets into six catches and 80 yards last week, showing he can contribute without needing a lucky touchdown to save his afternoon. With Pittsburgh looking for dependable options beyond DK Metcalf, Bernard has a chance to keep earning meaningful targets. He’s a worthy FLEX play for managers who need a fresh face in the lineup.

Emanuel Wilson, RB, Seahawks at Broncos
With Seattle’s backfield depleted, Wilson has become the primary runner. Since taking over two weeks ago, Wilson has averaged 23 touches a game and has scored 3 touchdowns. The workload is worth chasing.

Keenan Allen, WR, Colts vs. Titans
Allen has caught 11 of 18 targets for 108 yards and a touchdown across his last two games played. Tennessee’s vulnerable pass defense makes the veteran a useful WR3.

Pat Freiermuth, TE, Steelers at Buccaneers
Twelve targets and three touchdowns in Pittsburgh’s last two games and a Tampa defense allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to tight ends? Muth is back on the menu.

Sit ’Em

Jaylen Waddle, WR, Broncos vs. Seahawks
Two catches for 19 yards last week. Seattle allows the fourth-fewest fantasy points to receivers. Waddle’s speed is exciting; his current production is not.

DK Metcalf, WR, Steelers vs. Buccaneers

Even without Michael Pittman and Roman Wilson last week, Metcalf was fourth on the Steelers in targets with 4. He has also failed to eclipse 40 yards receiving in four out of five games this season. Playing against Todd Bowles exotic, blitz schemes will force Rodgers into check downs which play against Metcalf’s deep ball prowess.

Colston Loveland, TE, Bears at Falcons
Taking out Loveland’s Week 4 “explosion” (6 catches for 57 yards), he has just 7 catches for 53 yards through his other four games. He’s currently TE37 in PPR leagues. Until his role grows, Loveland cannot be trusted in lineups.

RJ Harvey, RB, Broncos vs. Seahawks
Denver’s backfield usage has been frustrating, and Harvey’s workload has shrunk to scraps. Outside of a ten-catch Week 4, Harvey hasn’t topped 6.7 PPR points in a game this year. His game is entirely reliant on receptions and those cannot be trusted (he had ZERO last week).
