Fernando Mendoza Throws Pick-6, Immediately Asks “Did I Do That?”

HOUSTON– Top draft pick Fernando Mendoza threw an interception Thursday night and asked rhetorically, in an annoyingly high-pitched voice, “Did I Do That?”

He then snapped the red suspenders he wears under his jersey and returned to the sidelines where he placed a phone call to a woman named Laura Winslow. Ms. Winslow did not answer his call.

Raiders Head Coach Klint Kubiak reportedly came over to share words of encouragement with Mendoza after the on-field snafu, but grew increasingly frustrated when Mendoza kept calling him ‘Carl’ and saying, “I’m a lean, mean, polka machine!”

Sources within the Raider locker room report that some of Mendoza’s teammates questioned whether the quirky Heisman trophy winner has the swagger it takes to be an NFL quarterback. But Ashton Jeanty stuck up for his rookie teammate: “Hey, the Raiders are a family. And Family Matters.”

At press time, the Raiders were in negotiations to sign similar looking but much cooler signal caller Stefan Urquelle.
