Shedeur Sanders Makes History, Becomes First-Ever FIFA Super Bowl Champion

CLEVELAND—Shedeur Sanders may have lost the starting job to Deshaun Watson, but he was awarded a new prize on Friday — the first-ever FIFA Super Bowl Trophy.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said he thought Shedeur should have won the Super Bowl for his efforts to make the Cleveland Browns 53-man roster as a fourth-round draft pick.

In awarding the prize, Infantino told Shedeur it was a “beautiful trophy for you that you can put on your shelf next to other awards you so richly deserved, like having your Colorado Buffalo jersey retired after leading your team to a last place finish in the Pac-12.” 

Infantino continued: “You definitely deserve the first FIFA Super Bowl Trophy for your action, for what you have obtained in your way,” said Infantino, who spoke after a video was played that showed Shedeur taking 25-yard sacks instead of calmly stepping up in the pocket and throwing to the open man like Dillon Gabriel does routinely. 

Shedeur thanked himself, his father ‘Prime’, and then thanked himself again. “To all my haters out there,” Shedeur said, “I told you I was legendary.” He then thanked himself for a third time.

His father added, “Shedeur receiving this award finally puts the unfounded accusations that my son is somehow entitled to rest.”

At press time, Shedeur was seen grinning outside of Browns stadium waving his pretend trophy in random people’s faces.
