49ers Injury Bug Strikes Again: De’Zhaun Stribling Carted Off

The 49ers’ injury curse apparently made the trip to Australia.

Rookie wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling was ruled out against the Rams after suffering a left ankle injury. Stribling initially left in the first quarter, returned briefly, then went down again in the second quarter and was carted off the field.

The timing couldn’t be much worse for San Francisco. Stribling, the 33rd overall pick in this year’s draft, was expected to have an immediate role in a receiving corps already dealing with injuries.

For fantasy managers, Stribling is obviously a hold until we know the severity. If he misses significant time, San Francisco’s remaining receivers should see a bump in opportunity.
