A.J. Brown Lands on IR: What It Means for Fantasy

SHARE

A.J. Brown’s Patriots debut didn’t last long. The veteran receiver suffered a high-ankle sprain in Wednesday’s loss to Seattle and has now been placed on injured reserve, meaning he’ll miss at least four games. The earliest Brown can return is Week 6.

For fantasy managers, Brown is obviously a hold. The bigger question is who benefits while he’s gone.

Romeo Doubs (and his butter hands) should get every opportunity to establish himself after a forgettable Week 1, while DeMario Douglas, Mack Hollins and rookie Kyle Williams all figure to see more work. Hunter Henry could also pick up targets underneath.

Pigskin verdict: Brown belongs in your IR slot. Doubs is the first receiver we’d look to add if someone dropped him after Wednesday’s weak performance, with Douglas an interesting PPR option.
