Week 2 Injury Watch: Who’s In, Who’s Out and Who’s at Risk
The biggest name to watch heading into Week 2 is Nico Collins, who injured his hammy during Wednesday’s practice. Houston reportedly doesn’t believe the injury is serious, but Collins’ availability against Cincinnati is very much in question. He had seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, so this isn’t exactly a minor fantasy development. If Collins sits, Houston’s remaining receivers immediately become more interesting.
Zay Flowers is another situation worth monitoring. The Ravens receiver missed Wednesday’s practice after aggravating a hamstring issue. That’s particularly annoying after Flowers opened the season with a monster performance. His practice participation Friday should tell us considerably more.
Then there’s Brock Bowers, who underwent a procedure on his knee before Week 1 and missed Wednesday’s practice. The Raiders have called him day-to-day, but Michael Mayer remains a legitimate streaming option if Bowers can’t return against the Chargers. Mayer caught six of seven targets in the opener.
There is at least some good news. TreVeyon Henderson was a full participant Wednesday after dealing with an injury, while Alvin Kamara also practiced fully.
And yes, Joe Burrow was limited with back tightness. Burrow, however, doesn’t sound particularly interested in sitting, telling reporters that unless he’s having surgery, he plans to play. In spite of his pregame outfit choices, Joe Cool is a tough guy at heart.
But it’s only Thursday. Check back before setting those lineups.
